Hackers battle Apple with putting unauthorized applications on the iPod Touch

Even since the very first days after the release of the iPod Touch, hackers have been working to get unauthorized applications on the device. Basically, they want to run additional programs on the Touch not originally included with the device. These are usually programs that add functionality and convenience to your device. Apple does not condone this behavior and has been releasing update after update to stop the hackers from doing this. On the other side, the hackers have been making it easier and easier to "jailbreak," or add unauthorized applications, to the device.
